Multiple Connections Features¶
Hotline allows making multiple connections of different types (bots or accounts) for different purposes.
Both linking each connection to its own backend group and combining several connections into one backend group are possible.
The convenience of multiple connections in one backend group is the ability to search across topics of all connections at once, as well as a minimal number of groups, but this organization method also has significant disadvantages.
Features of Multiple Connections in One Backend Group¶
-
To make it easier to distinguish topics of different connections, it's better to set them different topic colors through the
ICON_COLORparameter, and also immediately activate showing brief user and account information through which communication is going with theAUTO_INFOparameter. -
When using the
/newcommand to create dialogues in theGeneraltopic, you'll need to specify an additional option with the connection number, for example/new USERNAME i{INSTANCE_ID}(without it, dialogues will be created for each connection). -
Hotline limits the number of Telegram system updates passing through the system from each connection, to protect against flooding and reasonable billing. Updates on the backend group side with this connection type are counted by each connection independently and then added together. With high communication intensity and a large number of incoming messages, this can lead to rapid exhaustion of available limits (especially on free connections).
Thus, multiple connections in one backend group may be justified with relatively low intensity work with them or when it's appropriate for your specific case.

Important Recommendation
Considering the listed features, it's recommended, if possible, to distribute multiple connections into different working groups. And groups, for example, can be collected together in one Telegram folder.
This will reduce confusion with topics from different connections, simplify module setup and usage, and is more optimal in terms of system load created.
