Parameter WELCOME¶
The parameter sets the welcome message that your user receives in response to sending the first message to the connected bot or account (that is, when creating a topic in the working group). For bots, the welcome is sent after sending them the first /start command.
The welcome is also sent to the user when receiving a new message from the user to a closed topic-dialogue (when reopening the topic from closed state).
Free Version Limitation
In the free version of Hotline, the welcome cannot be disabled, also Hotline copyright in the form of a signature in English is necessarily added under your set welcome message.
If necessary, you can request a translation of the copyright to your language from the support service.
Data Format¶
Any text message can be set as a welcome, which should be sent to the setup bot after selecting the parameter for editing.
Users of paid tariffs can completely disable sending the welcome by sending the value OFF to the setup bot.
Formatting in the welcome is set in Markdown v2 format (links, bold, italic, etc.)
You can use the {title} variable in the message to display the user's name.
Default Value¶
By default, a message in English is displayed:
Hello!
Please clarify your question now.
We will reply to you as soon as we can.
Usage Examples¶
The welcome can include:
- links to news channels, project website, other bots
- operator working hours
- greeting in multiple languages
For some use cases of the system, disabling the welcome is important.
